SAMHSA

On July 15-17, we hosted a Black Youth Suicide Policy Academy, where we worked with 8 states to develop plans to address Black youth suicide in their state. This work can be incredibly difficult. With that in mind, we wanted to find a way to ensure that our attendees had a moment to find peace and regulate whatever emotions they might experience during the Academy. I reached out to SOUL COLE to do this at our event. We participated in an event together the previous year. SOUL did two breathing exercises and a mindfulness activity with us to set the stage. Attendees felt relaxed and encouraged to do the work. The young people there really connected with him as well. People mentioned that they felt more energy to do the work at the event. It also provided a safe place for people to let their guard down. For anyone looking for someone to set the foundation for their event in a positive way, to reach out to SOUL COLE.
